Netflix has acquired global rights to More Than Dodgeball starring Doug Fields and Josh Griffin

Starting April 31, More Than Dodgeball (MTD) starring Doug Fields and Josh Griffin of the web company Download Youth Ministry,  will be available on Netflix in more than 190 countries. Critics, who have disapproved of the lack of religious programing on Netflix have applauded the decision to on-board the wildly popular Youth Ministry show to the increasing depth and breadth of the digital streaming content Netflix offers. Additionally, the MTD creators have signed a spinoff deal for a sitcom titled, “What Do Youth Pastors Do All Day, Anyway?”

Adapted from the YouTube sensation by the same name, each 10-15 minute episode is comprised of  an assortment of 2-4 minute segments, including the fan-favorite: Yikes! in which hosts Fields and Griffin share viewer-submitted fail stories. Future episodes will include segments such as: Where Are They Now? featuring Youth Pastors who went on to be Senior Pastors and Outlawed Hires in which the clever duo interview Youth Pastors who were fired for seemingly minor offenses like not turning in church receipts, improperly cleaning the church van, or making an unintentional reference to genitalia during a sermon.

The first season features a star-studded parade of special guests including the Atlanta-based Pastor Andy Stanley who goes toe-to-toe with Fields in a round of Old Testament or Not? , Rick Warren, Pastor of Saddleback Church and author of The Purpose Driven Life makes an appearance during a guess-the-celebrity segment called, It Actually IS About You , and famed Theologian Joel Osteen stops by for a special rendition of Is It Really in the Bible? Season 1 is currently available on YouTube and joins the Netflix line-up Wednesday, April 31st.
