God sees all of our imperfections within us. And because of His love for us, he urges us to grow up. His love is not content to leave us in our weakness, and this is why he might put us through a winter. In doing this, he is able to take away all of our vices and create virtues within us. God can take our weaknesses when they are given to Him and turn them into a strength. We can either pout or pray. No soul will ever get to grow up unless God allows us to go through some winters so that we may mature spiritually.

Psalm 42

1 As the deer pants for streams of water,

so my soul pants for you, my God.

2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.

When can I go and meet with God?

3 My tears have been my food

day and night,

while people say to me all day long,

“Where is your God?”

4 These things I remember

as I pour out my soul:

how I used to go to the house of God

under the protection of the Mighty One[d]

with shouts of joy and praise

among the festive throng.
