You sharpen a knife to make it ready to be used. We sharpen each other to be ready to be used by God. You need to make sure these 2 key mentoring relationships are happening in your youth ministry world:

You are being sharpened
Who is mentoring you? Who is challenging you? What are you reading right now that is pushing your thinking? Who knows your best and your worst stuff? Who is protecting you in ministry?

You are sharpening your people
Who are you pouring into? Who is your one? Who do you recognize as having a special set of gifts you have an opportunity to maximize? Who is the next … you?

When students begin to permit others to hold them accountable, to point out their blind spots, and to speak truth into their lives, they are allowing them to sharpen each other, good things happen. Sharpen and be sharpened
