Saddleback HSM Weekend in Review: Volume 220

Weekend Teaching Series: A Piece of My Mind (series premiere, week 1 of 4)
Sermon in a Sentence: 4 lies and 4 truths about Christians
Service Length: 72

Understandable Message: This weekend Jessica and AC teamed up to talk through 4 common pieces of “unwritten theology” that we usually believe as Christians but actually aren’t true of healthy in the life of a follower of Jesus. They talked through why these things actually hurt your faith and drive you away from the church and authenticity rather than living a life of honesty in the church as a Christian.

Element of Fun/Positive Environment: This weekend we played Is It Really in the Bible? and it was a huge hit. In between each question we had a fun prize video showcasing what they won with each correct answer – it started off super small like a Slinky Jr and worked all of the way up to a car from the church parking lot. Super fun game, hilarious over the top prizes (that fortunately no one won hahahaha).

Music Playlist: Here For You, How He Loves, Learn to Love, Scandal of Grace, Lead Me On

Favorite Moment: It was hard to say goodbye to longtime friend Parker Stech on the HSM team. He is one of those rare talents to totally be a video/geek guy and also a great pastor. Excited about what God has for him next, but he will be missed for sure!
