Integrating Theology and Youth Ministry

Just finished reading a great new Kara Powell article today from YS on theology and youth ministry. Here’s a particularly good excerpt, head there for the rest:

Part of what keeps us from entereing deep waters is that we don’t engage in deep theological reflection. Maybe theology makes us a bit nervous. Maybe we don’t think we have the time. Or maybe we don’t know how. Perhaps we don’t believe doctrine is all that relevant to what we do with kids and families.

The truth is that our theology impacts everything we do – how we eat, how we drive, how we relate to others. Everything. And it certainly affects the depths of our ministries. We all “practice” our theology even when our theology isn’t completely thought out, and even when we don’t realize it.
