For most of us, the school year has begun and along come the busy, filled up schedules. If you are like me, you’ve got a lot going on and time management & prioritizing is crucial to survival of the busy schedule. Some people can gracefully carry on crazy busy schedules; people like Joyce Meyer and Matthew Barnett (founder of the Dream Center). They successfully oversee over a dozen ministries every single day. But how? This is what I think…

For one, they delegate. They know what they are not able to do (due to either a lack of time or talent), accept that and delegate the task to someone who is able. When they delegate, I’m sure they do not just hand over the task and say, “Here, do this.” No. I am sure they show them what else is going on in the ministry and give them hands on experience then discuss the most effective way of getting it done.

Two, they are focused. They step away from all known distractions until either it is break time or the task is complete. And yes! They do take breaks because breaks help you regain your focus. When focused, you are capable of accomplishing more in a day than some do in a week. Really.

And three, they trust in God. They trust Him to guide them, provide for them and their ministry, and they trust Him to fulfill all of His promises. They know that no matter what happens, that God will have their back. He works all things together for our good.

All of us do have more than enough time in the day to accomplish what God has called us to accomplish. I believe we can start to have gracefully busy schedules by delegating, becoming focused and by trusting in God and fill one week of scheduling into one day!

What do you think? What are some other tips for time management and prioritizing a gracefully busy schedule?
