Wednesday Teaching Series: Friday, Saturday, Sunday. We are going through the Easter story and highlighting different days of the weekend. Each week we will talk about a different day and things we can learn from this amazing story.

Sermon in a Sentence: Pray the heart of God not just His abilities of God because when He doesn’t answer the way we want Him to, we still know His heart and we can trust Him.
Service Length: 74 minutes

Understandable Message: In Scripture there is not much about Saturday of the resurrection. The disciples must have been freaking out because Jesus wad gone. Sometimes we feel like God is gone silent. We talked about what do we do when God seems silent and inactive in our lives. Too many times we pray for God to do something but when nothing happens, we walk away. We instead need to pray to know God’s heart because even though he doesn’t answer us, we know we can still trust in Him.

Element of Fun/Positive Environment: We had fun with the DYM game Siri-oki where siri sings pop songs. Students loved played against our leaders and we had a good time.

Music Playlist: Praise You (our church’s song), In This Moment (our church’s song), Great Are You Lord

Favorite Moment: We did a prayer exercise to practice praying the heart of God. We had the students write out a prayer to God where they had felt that God was silent on one side of the paper. Using Psalm 113 we had students write down how God would respond to that prayer as if He was responding to them knowing His heart that is described in these verses.

For example:

Prayer: God, my family feels like it’s falling a part. My parent’s are fighting and I feel alone in my own house.

God’s Heart: My son, know that I am with you and you are loved by your Heavenly Father and I am closer than ever.

Something like that. It was super powerful. Lot’s of great conversations and prayers happened after service between leaders and students.
