Connecting faith to life is the great challenge of youth ministry. We try hard to teach, model, and equip students to integrate their faith into school, home and all of life.

See You at the Pole provides a great opportunity to connect faith and life. As they pray publicly, students identify as believers in the midst of their peers. They demonstrate love as they intercede for the teachers and friends. They shift reliance on self to reliance on God as they call out for Him to hear and respond.

Josh, is it possible that SYATP has had it’s day and is quite frankly – over? Schools are bigger, more diverse and less tolerant of gatherings of any kind, and in my experience it’s a miracle their isn’t a shooting every day during the drop-off time at school. Back in the day SYATP was great, and in some smaller communities I think it still works, but for some of our bigger schools it’s really hard to pull off. I hate to be “that guy” but maybe it’s okay if we let this have a dignified death and just let it go instead of trying to breathe life into something that’s already flatlined.
