Another Solid Saddleback Weekend

I love it when a youth pastor speaks at church. It’s ALWAYS shorter than usual!

This week, junior high pastor Kurt Johnston spoke in big church, which was his first time in the 10+ years since he’s been at Saddleback. He did a great job, talking about how we are “scratched and dented” like the discount stereo at Best Buy. But instead of being sold for less, Jesus Christ paid full price for us and loved us despite our sin nature. We are now called to live for him … such great stuff!

The part that spoke to me the most was this verse in 2 Corinthians 4:7 (MSG):

But this precious treasure–this light and power that now shine within us–is held in perishable containers, that is, in our weak bodies. So everyone can see that our glorious power is from God and is not our own.
